The Talaandig is one of the seven major indigenous groups in Bukidnon. The other groups are the Talaandig Higaonon, Bukidnon, Manobo, Matigsalog, Umayamnon, and Tigwahanon. The Talaandig, Bukidnon, and Higaonon covers the whole Mount Kitanglad with seven municipalities and one city. Talaandig is at the municipality of Lantapan and Talakag Bukidnon. The Cultural Center is situated in Songco, Lantapan Bukidnon.
The ancestry of the Talaandig is rooted from Apu Agbibilin and Apo Ginamayong. The community is made up of 10,000 families. Its present tribal administrator of the community is in the leadership of Datu Migketay Victorino Saway working with the Council of Elders and the Cultural Masters which is composed of the chanters, community historian, arbitrators, indigenous farmers, Peace Advocates and the Mangunguyamo (the men and women midwives).
The Talaandig community has three organized groups; The School for Living Tradition, Anak ng Tribu, and the Mothers for Peace.
